Six specialties, tuned to the coast.
Salt air, sandy soil, oak roots, August thunderstorms. Coastal yards punish landscaping that wasn't built for them. Scott has spent twenty years designing around the climate, not against it.
Artificial turf
UV-stable yarn rated for Florida full sun. Proper drainage so it survives the four-o'clock thunderstorm.
Putting greens
Custom contour, multi-cup, fringe and chipping area. Tour-spec roll on a base that handles humidity.
Coastal pavers
Salt-air-rated travertine and porcelain. Proper bedding for sandy substrate. Holds its line through hurricane season.
Hardscape
Seat walls, fire pits, outdoor kitchens. Engineered for coastal soil and the live-oak root systems that came first.
Native planting
Sabal palm, muhly grass, beach sunflower, coontie, firebush. Drought-tolerant, salt-tolerant, low-maintenance.
Full transformations
One designer, one schedule — sketch through final paver tap. Front yard to back fence, planting through lighting.
A backyard that opens to the oaks, eleven days in.
Family wanted a putting green for the kids and a place for adults to gather without competing for square footage. Scott routed a 480 sq-ft green into the side yard with a low retaining wall, then opened the back into a travertine patio and fire pit oriented toward the live oaks.
Scope: 480 sq-ft putting green · 720 sq-ft travertine patio · gas fire pit · seat walls · uplit native palms + coontie border.

Scott Baker started in turf and putting greens — the work that demands the most precision — and grew into pavers, hardscape, and full outdoor transformations because clients kept asking him to do the whole yard. He went solo in October 2016. Hometown: Santa Ana, California. New ground: the 50-mile St. Augustine radius.
"Damn — this is one of the first ones I did completely on my own."

Coastal-yard questions Scott hears often.
Does Baker Greens use native Florida plants?
Yes. Drought-tolerant native palettes — sabal palm, muhly grass, beach sunflower, coontie, firebush, simpson stopper — are standard for coastal St. Augustine installations. Lower maintenance, lower water, holds its color through summer.
How close to the beach can you install pavers?
Salt-air-rated travertine and porcelain pavers can be installed within 100 feet of the dunes when properly sealed and bedded. Baker Greens installs on Vilano, Anastasia, Crescent, and Ponte Vedra Beach regularly.
How long does artificial turf last in Florida heat?
15–20 years over a properly graded and drained base, with UV-stable yarn. 8-year manufacturer warranty minimum on every install.
How far do you travel for jobs?
50-mile radius around St. Augustine — covers Ponte Vedra, Palm Coast, World Golf Village, Palatka, Flagler Beach, Jacksonville Beach.
How much does a putting green cost?
$8,000–$22,000 for a 300–600 sq ft custom green in the St. Augustine area. Tour-spec with chipping fringe exceeds $40,000.
