Are pavers better than a concrete slab in Florida?
On the coast, usually yes. Pavers use salt-rated materials, never show a crack line, and repair by lifting individual units. Concrete slabs spall in salt air and crack with soil movement, and the crack is permanent.
What pavers survive salt air best?
Porcelain and dense travertine rated for coastal exposure, properly sealed. Scott specs the material to the distance from the water and the use: patio, walkway, or driveway.
Do paver patios get weeds?
Not when the base and joints are done right: compacted base, tight joints, polymeric sand, and edge restraint. Weeds in pavers are a symptom of skipped base work.
